Volunteers from different backgrounds share their experiences and explain why they continue to volunteer.
Xuyi, Jiangsu, July, 2015
It was my first trip with Mighty Oaks to China. In the beginning, I did not know what to expect but later, I was able to observe multiple facets of the operation from the medical team, post operation patient care team, all the way to actively participating in the English teaching sessions.
We interacted well with the volunteers from Xuyi. Being part of the English team, I taught basic English vocabulary to the nurses at the hospital. It was an enjoyable and enriching experience. As a result, I had a wonderful time as we were able to support the nurses, a critical part of patient care. I certainly believe that, with growth, Mighty Oaks can become a major force for good in our community.
